The Red Bull Base is a former military base. Since the site was acquired by Red Bull in 2012, the complex has been renovated in accordance with the requirements of monument protection and turned into a state-of-the-art office complex. This project is to be continued over the next few years in order to provide space for 2000 employees of the company in the final stage.
The aim of the urban intervention is to sensitively complement the existing structures and to design a complex that is characterized by its efficiency and flexibility yet still stands out with bold, modern, and environmentally aware architecture. In the era of climate change, of which we are becoming increasingly aware, there is an opportunity for large corporations to show the way into the future through sustainable pioneering achievements.
The former military base, which had already been renovated and is currently being used as an office building, encloses the central area and thus creates the impression of an expanded patio. The opening to the south marks one of the central axes, geographically limited by the historic horse pond. In the immediate vicinity there are also stables and a chapel, both of which are in poor structural condition.
The masterplan is designed in such a way that all areas can be reached quickly by the employees and is within walking distance, which ensures an efficient workflow and a permanent, intensive interaction.
