Context

The Lakeshore Resort is perched on a slope overlooking the beautiful Wörthersee. The building is embedded carefully into the site, ensuring the best views towards the lake simultaneously.

Concept

A parametric study is carried out to meet numerous site constraints such as the perimeter, slope, height, volume and views. The superimposition of all of these parameters is used as a design tool to find the most optimized layout and composition for the building complex.

Content

Three distinct volumes are created as a result of the parametric study, the edges of which are refined into sleek curves, reminiscent of the boats that are docked right in front of the site. The two lower volumes merge on a common platform, creating a strong, monumental front towards the traffic. The private terraces that result from the massing echo spacious boat decks.
